Dear Diary

2020: Dear Diary
A blue quilt with 15 squares

Dear Diary is a perzine festival on unceded Ohlone land aka the East Bay of California.  Here is a description of Dear Diary Zine Fest in their own words:

“Dear Diary Zine Fest, a text-heavy fest full of feelings, aims to amplify marginalized voices and celebrate the healing and transformative power of telling our stories through perzines. Some of our favorite zines are perzines, some of our favorite zines were made last minute using whatever scraps of paper were lying around, nothing fancy. We want this to be for the freaks, the queers, people with no online presence, people too shy to submit to fests, younger folks,  first time, and long time zine makers. Let it all out and share it with us!”

We worked to make a quilt that embodies the spirit of Dear Diary Zinefest.  We were inspired by feelings of vulnerability; stories of inclusion, overcoming, undercoming, celebration, sadness, and anything else that inspires the transformative power of sharing oneself.
