I am an artist based in Auckland, New Zealand, working across sculpture, performance, and the culinary arts. I’m obsessed with glamour, humour, music, hippies, and lesbians, which all inform what I make and dream about.
Let’s Play (2023)
For my quilt square, I decided to make something that could itself be played with. Yo-yos, or Suffolk puffs, have become a tool for me to play around with textiles and colour combinations; essentially little sketches for larger projects. I chose a selection of my favourite puffs and attached domes to them, so that whoever handles the quilt can play with my square, and create any layout that pleasing them. I enjoy making work that is interesting on a sensory level, appealing to anyone who enjoys the click of a dome, the feel of different fabrics, and the satisfaction of a good layout.
